The profile is most likely covering about 60-80% of the image frame, starting from the edges. We don't know exactly though.

That is indeed weird that it's not as focused when viewing the content. The rear screen really isn't large enough to tell the focus properly. I'd contact GoPro and see what they have to say. Otherwise you can break the glue holding the lens in place and give it a small turn to adjust the focus.

No the lens will not be able to thread in far enough to be focused. You may be able to break the metal tabs holding the plastic lens surround off and get it in further though to focus. We have tested on a RibCage GoPro H4B and it works fine. Your best option is looking at the non-fisheye narrower lenses we have for the GoPro and installing one of those instead as they will thread right in without any modifications required.

I will try to file down the metal walls on the 3+ silver since I'm not going to sell it anyway and I care much more for functionality than looks :) Did you notice any issues when you tried the x3 lens on the gopro H4B? I tried a couple of after market lenses for gopro before and none of them have the HFOV and the clarity of the gopro lens. I figured, since the X3 lens is great on the DJI, it will look better than most lenses on the Gopro. I use it to film my tennis matches and the 94 deg HFOV of the x3 lens is just perfect. It's a lot easier (no 30min recording limit) to film a 2 hour tennis match with my GoPro using an extended battery.

You'll need to take the camera apart so you can access the screws holding the sensor board onto the lens mount. Then clean the sensor and back of the lens.

No problem, I thought you might want to know :) Do you plan to do a similar test with Mavic or would it be to tricky to apply the zoom lens on it? Maybe digital zoom in post would work as well for demonstration purposes.

We do have a Mavic on order and will be taking it apart. We don't think it's going to have a m12 lens mount though due to the auto-focusing ability but we'll know more when we get it. The Mavic gimbal motors also appear really, really small, so similar to the Phantom (which doesn't have digital zoom) we're not too confident the motors will be able to stabilize any narrower of a lens that well.

Yes, narrower FOV lenses aren't as good to use when subjects are closer to the camera and you need to pan. You have to adapt your style of shooting based on the equipment you're using.

Don't blame us you can't see the drone from the camera's POV :) The only thing you can see from this shot is the controller from afar as we descend.

This was shot on a Hero 4. We will have 8.25mm lenses with Hero 5 compatible threading early next month.

We believe that lens protector provides the same protection as the waterproof housing, so any lens that works with the lens protector should also work with the waterproof housing. That means the best lens that will work with both would be the 8.25mm.

If everything is pink then you ordered the lens without the IR cut filter

Not everything is pink. It's mostly when there are brighter lights. Can this be fixed or do I need to get a new one? What's the purpose of such a lens? Sorry for the newbie questions!

Try it outside, any IR containing light, such as sunlight, will create an overly pink hue. It cannot be fixed without an IR cut filter, and the easiest solution is to simply send it back for an exchange. There are many uses for lenses without a filter, such as night vision using IR lights.
